It's starting to get REAL!

Posted by Tom

It's starting to get real! We have had three showers and gotten lots of goodies for the babies. We are very thankful for our family, friends, and coworkers that have showered love upon us and our babies.

Our nursery is starting to come together. We have painted and gotten new carpet. We have added a dresser and a chest of drawers. Hopefully we can add the cribs in the next two weeks and that will complete our furniture. After such good showers, the only remaining things we need are accessory items. Once the nursery is complete, we will do a big post with pictures for you all to see. *Stay Tuned*

We went back to the high risk doctor to have our 26 week check up. All three babies are doing great. As time progresses and the babies continue to grow, it makes each ultrasound very difficult to tell what's going on and to see everything. Growing babies means less room for us to see each individual part. However, the doctor was able to see all of their vitals and everyone is still perfectly healthy. Holland is now measuring 2lbs and 4oz, Sutton is measuring 2lbs and 3oz, and Reiker (the big brother) is measuring 2lbs and 5oz. That's over 7lbs of total baby! Kim is starting to get into the "uncomfortable" stage of pregnancy. She is still working but having to sit a lot more. By the end of the day, she is done! Fortunately, the only problem that she is having is her feet are swelling. The more she sits and props the less they swell. She is trying to work until the end of this month. That would put her right at 30 weeks. The high risk doctor has said that our goal is 36 weeks, and he thinks Kim can definitely make it there. Bed rest for the final 6 weeks will hopefully insure that we meet our goal.

Even though the babies are getting harder to see via u/s. We did get two 3D shots of Sutton and Reiker. Holland was not being very photogenic this time.

We had a great time at the shower Saturday night at Chops and Hops. I am so excited for the both of you and I can't believe that it is so close now. You two are going to make great parents and those babies are going to have love poured all over them.

I am so thankful that we get to share such a precious and awesome time with you two. Sarah and I are so blessed to be able to have such awesome friends and look forward to watching the babies grow before our eyes.

It seems like just yesterday, Tommy, you and I were talking on the phone and you didn't know what the future held for you and Kim having children. God has mysterious ways of working and showering his blessings down on us and my hart sank the first time you told us about the loss of a baby. But for some reason I just felt in the back of my heart that it was not over and we prayed so hard for you two and just knew God was working through his plan. I remember when we got the text that there was not one, not two but three babies coming :):):0. I remember because my day was not going so great and that text came through, I look down at my phone on my desk and saw those pictures and a rush of happiness came over me. I remember feeling so happy for you two and just sitting there thinking God truly is great and forgetting about what was even making my day go bad.

I am SO HAPPY for both of you and simply blessed to watch this journey and Gods plan continue to blossom. I sit her with tears in my eyes with happiness in my heart and know that when you hold those little babies for the first time, when they wrap their finger around yours, look deep into your eyes, start crawling, say DADA, MAMA for the first time, you will know the true and awesome amazing power that God has blessed us all with and wonder what you even did before you had them in your life.

We Love ya'll so much and can't wait to meet these precious Babies
